So honored!

I participate in a Flickr group that participates in a weekly photography challenge.
Each week we are given a theme, and we post a picture or two, with the art being how each visualizes the theme.

This challenge has not only helped me grow my skills as a photographer, but stretched me as an artist.

I never thought I was an artist. Those are creative people. They are definitely a different personality type.  They're a little weird sometimes.

I am given a theme. I visualize it.  I make it happen. I get the shot.
I create.
I am an artist.
Cool!

I have been chosen, twice in the last 3 weeks. as Eye Candy from the weekly challenges.
I am SOOOOOOOOOOOO excited, I can't tell you!

It's so weird when someone else likes your stuff !
It tickles me!

If you have a few minutes, please check out Sarah Cornish's blog, her portfolio. If her work doesn't move you, you might need to see a cardiologist. I don't think your heart is beating.

This sweet mom and her children were just a delight to shoot!

Back to School!

I had the pleasure of meeting with the H family early one hot, August morning.
Oldest son was getting ready to head back to his sophomore year in college.
I've known the boys for a few years, and they are not only polite and kind, but also really nice people! The whole family is cut the same way!

Sailor Boy has been home for a week now, and it's been busy and wonderful!

A USNA alumnus loaned Sailor Boy a Nikon D40 to play with for a while.  Sailor Boy and I took a quick trip out near Red Rocks to show him how to play with it. We woke up early, for us, and were pleasantly surprised by the rain that had snuck into the valley.

Here's a few shots from our morning!

L'il Blue House on the Western Slope

We spent some r & w (rest & work) time last week at The Little Blue House.
Got the water turned on, sprinklers going, enjoying the beautiful weather,
totally enjoying being 'unplugged.'

Here's a few from the trip...
